We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst Consultant to support our growing company for approximately 20 hours per week. As a Data Analyst Consultant, you will work with the data science and clinical teams to analyze public health, clinical evaluations, and other pregnancy-related datasets to inform Sera’s product development pipelines. You will dive deep into those datasets to understand their value and limitations, use mathematical and statistical techniques to extract insights, and then transfer that knowledge to product development teams. Note that you are not expected to come in as an expert in pregnancy or pregnancy-related data, but you will gain expertise in this area over time. Your work will empower mothers with knowledge about their pregnancies and will help change the world for the better. 

Location 

Remote with the option for hybrid or in-office work for those candidates in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area who are interested. All work must be completed on US soil using Sera-provided computer equipment. 

Hours 

M-F with availability between 9am-2pm MST. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth analyses using a variety of public health, clinical, and other pregnancy-related datasets. 
  • Inspect datasets for quality, including data cleaning and imputation, providing summary statistics, and creating data dictionaries for subsequent analyses. 
  • Develop statistical and mathematical models, including documentation, testing, and support for integration of those models into products. 
  • Participate as a collaborative member of the data science team, including standup and team meetings, project and code reviews, and other areas as appropriate. 
  • Work with legal, clinical, regulatory, product management, and engineering teams on cross-functional product development.  
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in statistics or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in data analysis involving biological, clinical, or public health data.  
  • Expertise with data mining tools (experience with R and SQL preferred). 
  • Expertise with a variety of statistical and mathematical techniques for data analysis.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in biotech, medical diagnostics, or other heavily regulated field. 
  • Experience with human subjects research/data regulations. 
  • Proven ability to work independently and with teams on complex exploratory projects. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid setting. 

Pay

  • $35.00 to $45.00 an hour.
  • No more than 20 hours per week.
